Math Teacher (Parental Leave Replacement)
The Seventh-day Adventist Church – Quebec Conference is seeking a full-time (100%) Math teacher for a temporary position from September to December 2025.
Location: Greaves Adventist Academy, Montreal, Quebec
Job Description:
Greaves Adventist Academy, located in the vibrant and culturally rich city of Montreal, is looking for a qualified and dedicated teacher to join its teaching team during a parental leave replacement. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching Math from Grade 7 to Grade 11, including Cultural Math (Grades 10-11), Financial Education, and Economics at the secondary level.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong subject knowledge, the ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds, and a commitment to academic excellence and Adventist educational values.
Candidate Profile:
- University degree in Mathematics or in Math Education (a Bachelor of Education with a specialization in Mathematics is preferred)
- Relevant teaching experience at the secondary level
- Valid provincial certification and eligibility for Adventist teaching certification
- Proficiency with modern educational technologies
- Proven classroom management skills
- Personal commitment to Adventist education
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
- Legal authorization to work in Canada (citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid work permit)
- Recent police background check for vulnerable sector (less than six months old)
- The language of instruction is English. However, a functional knowledge of French would be considered an asset.
