What’s different from previous Camp-Meetings
Updated Tuesday June 18th, 2019,11:45 a.m.
Five (5) important things you need to know to better understand how this year’s Camp-Meeting at Camping de la Rivière Nicolet is significantly different than those we’ve had in the past years.
- INFORMATION ON DRIKING WATER ON THE CAMPSITE
- Bring your own drinking water. The water on the campsite can be used to wash dishes or for swimming, but the owner cannot guarantee perfect water safety.
- During the week, you can buy water at the campsite reception for 3$ / 4L.
- Sabbath morning, NO SALE of water, but we plan on providing drinking water on sabbath morning.
- Plan to bring your own reusable water bottle so that you can fill it on site. We want to avoid the use of recyclable plastic bottles.
- For those of you staying over on the campsite, external washing water is available. For example, there is washing machine that charges 1.50$ a wash (and a drying machine that charges 2.00$). These appliances take 0.25$, 1$ et 2$ coins so you must carry change with you.
- FOOD WILL NOT BE SOLD OR DISTRIBUTED ON THE CAMPSITE
- Bring your own food.
-
This situation is not voluntary on our part: we are REALLY sorry. There is no facility for refrigeration or on-site cooking equipment that can feed hundreds of people.
- CAMPGROUNDS ARE AVAILABLE UPON RESERVATION ONLY – Click HERE for more details
- There are no cabins available for reservations on the campsite.
- There are 39 camping grounds for tents and trailers.
- 32 of them can hold a tent or small trailer WITHOUT WATER OR ELECTRICITY.
- 7 can hold trailers WITH (non-drinking) WATER AND ELECTRICITY.
- You can access the campsite as early as Monday July 1st, 2019 (although the Camp-Meeting program will only begin on Wednesday evening, July 3rd).
- DO NOT BRING your own firewood: you must buy it onsite.

- IN REAL NATURE : Its almost WILDERNERS CAMPING
- If the sun shines, it will scorch. Fortunately there are many trees (and much shade).
- If it rains, some areas will be muddy.
- There will be insects (mosquitoes, blackflies, etc.).
- The closest convenience store is at Wotton, the closest village, a 5-minutes drive. The nearest grocery stores are in Asbestos (20 minutes): Metro and Maxi.
- There are no lights at night: bring your flashlights.
- You will have to walk : bring comfortable shoes.
- If you travel with a stroller to carry your toddlers, please note the tracks will be bumpy.
- Fortunately, there are no skunks or raccoons around!
- SAFETY REGULATIONS ADAPTED TO THE CIRCUMSTANCES
- Identification bracelets are MANDATORY and should be worn at all time by every individual on the camp site: Bracelets will be available at the reception.
- The campsite is bordered by water streams: parents should therefore watch their children.
- Children 12 years and younger should ALWAYS be accompanied by a parent or adult.
- On Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., NO VEHICLES WILL BE ALLOWED TO CIRCULATE ON THE CAMPSITE.
- On Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., the toilets and showers of the campsite will be CLOSED. Please use the portable toilets which will be placed throughout the site.
