On January 20, 1974, Pastor Georges Hermans appeared on television screens for the first time. The year is 2024, marking 50 years of a journey in which several “pilots” have taken the helm.

On Saturday afternoon, November 16, Il Est Écrit viewers from the Quebec City region met with hosts and pastors José Elysée, Rémy Ballais and Patrick Dupuis. It was a moment of nostalgia, of recovering old photos that testify to the efforts of many people, many of whom are no longer with us, of their commitment to God and their willingness to serve in mission, collaborating in many ways with Il Est Écrit.

The testimonies of Jean-Guy Tremblay, Lydia Matveev, Gisèle Douville and Jean Renaud were moving.

One of the highlights of the evening celebrating 50 years of broadcasting was a thank-you to pastors José Élysée and Rémy Ballais, and their wives, Elisabeth and Bitten, for the years of dedication and personal and family sacrifice they have made to continue and constantly improve a television ministry like Il Est Écrit. The audience broke into rapturous applause, recognizing the two pastors as pillars who have sustained the TV program for over 25 years together.

Finally, the entire Il Est Écrit team was introduced to the public. Thanks to all the team since these pages, to Pastor Daniel Razakaria, in charge of answering listeners’ most difficult questions and correcting correspondence Bible studies, to Nicole Arseneault who handles shipping and receives requests, to Pastor Alberto Sosa, coordinator of small groups and listener follow-up, Daniel Vuillaume, studio manager, Jonas Florencio, technician, Lydia Matveev, secretary and administrative coordinator, and finally to pastors Rémy Ballais and Patric Dupuis, who present the Word on home screens in Quebec and elsewhere through their animations.

Pedro Torres, director of Espoir Média Québec – Il Est Écrit Multimédia
