American pastor and evangelist David Klindinst, best known for his Forecasting Hope series focused on the Bible prophecies of Daniel and Revelation, gave presentations on friendship-based evangelism during the Bible Bootcamp – Pentecost 2025, organized by the Vision 300 team from the Personal Ministries and Sabbath School department of the Quebec Conference.

He emphasized the importance of building relationships as the first step in evangelism. “People need to trust you before they believe you,” he stated. He shared the story of someone he used to play basketball with, to whom he was also giving Bible studies. It was after sharing his personal testimony with him that he decided to get baptized.

Evangelism is not limited to a Bible study around a table. It’s lived out in everyday life—through activities, meals, and simple moments—just as Jesus did. Listening, loving, and building trust: that is the heart of his ministry.

The speaker also warned against the danger of criticizing or addressing doctrinal issues too early in a friendship. “We must earn the right to say certain things, and that right is gained through friendship,” he said. He added that it is better to focus first on what we have in common and allow sensitive topics to come later, in an atmosphere of trust.

Finally, he encouraged church leaders to cultivate this evangelistic vision every Sabbath morning through short testimonies, book distributions, visitor follow-ups, and more—simple actions that can transform the church into a vibrant missionary space and serve as a constant reminder to live out our faith daily.
