On October 13, 2024, the Pastoral Association of the Quebec Conference held a gala to honor pastors, the dedicated men and women who provide spiritual and administrative support to their congregations. This event, which takes place every October, is intended to express our gratitude for the exceptional commitment of pastors and their families, for their teaching and their unwavering support.
A Moment of Gratitude
The ceremony began with a time of praise and thanksgiving. Pastor Norelus, Director of the Pastoral Association, then gave a moving tribute to the serving and retired pastors with inspiring speeches. He emphasised the importance of pastoral ministry and reminded us that, despite the daily challenges, it is both a divine calling and an honour.
The event was also marked by the presence of Pastor Cyril Millet III, Vice-President of Administration of SDACC. In his message, he encouraged pastors to remain close to the Great Shepherd, Jesus Christ, who knows the way and all His sheep. By placing themselves under his command, they will discover his will and lead their community to the Promised Land.
A festive atmosphere
The celebration was enriched by musical performances by several pastors and an artist from the community, creating a joyful and spiritual atmosphere. Christian games also enlivened the day, bringing together young and old in challenges that were both entertaining and educational.
The pastoral families had the opportunity to gather in a spirit of fraternity and conviviality around delicious dishes prepared especially for the occasion. This moment of sharing strengthened the bonds between the participants and reminded us of the importance of solidarity and unity within the community.
In conclusion
Pastor Appreciation Day is more than a celebration. It is a recognition of the often discreet but essential work of those who watch over the souls entrusted to them by the Lord. This event allows pastors to feel supported and valued, while reminding the community of the importance of praying for their spiritual leaders, so that they may pursue their mission with passion and faith.
