Over the course of his 20-year career with
the Quebec Conference, Jean Renaud wore many hats: as auditor, IT professional,
resource person for local church treasurers, and most recently Community Services Director.
The treasurers said that Jean is
irreplaceable because he did an extraordinary job. His patience, attention to
detail and enthusiasm don’t go unnoticed.
Jean is cheerful and has a kind word for everyone. He is known around the office as the Musician. Indeed, during morning worship, he often plays his guitar and brings copies of several songs he wants to teach us.

Consequently, the office staff were dismayed to learn that Jean would be retiring in a few days. Given that he seemed to be the picture of health, we wondered what he would do with his time. We guessed that he would spend his hours gardening and enjoying fresh organic fruits and vegetables. We also thought he might lead a life of adventure, camping in the wild for months at a time, or simply rest on his laurels
All this is partly true, but there is more.
Jean feels called to work for Adventist community Services. He will devote all his
energy to his mega projects and lead the ministry to new heights.
The various leaders of this ministry are eager to cooperate with him and use this outreach tool, especially as food insecurity and endemic wars have increased the number of destitute people.
We wish Jean and his wife Carole a happy so-called retirement for many years. We are also delighted that he has promised to join us for Wednesday morning worship and teach us new songs.
